philosophy & approach

we do things a little differently here.  we don’t breed our own dogs.  we have no training facility.

instead we partner with professional dog trainers who have proven track records in breeding, raising, and training dogs with intelligence, capability, and stability.

dogs that hail from excellent genetics with superior health and temperament.  the type of dog you want by your side at all times.

equally important is that are our partners’ ethos align with ours.  they will be intimately involved in the matchmaking and integration processes as well as regular, ongoing training.

trust and integrity is as important as track record.

the breeds we choose to become our Psychiatric Service Dogs are different than most other organizations. we use Belgian Malinois, Border Collies, Dutch Shepherds, and German Shepherds.

they are athletic, “working-bred” dogs with a high-level of intelligence and loyalty who thrive in homes where they receive plenty of mental and physical stimulation —  where they have a job to do... like performing specific tasks for their person as a psychiatric service dog.

there are many reasons we have selected these breeds: sociability, stability, health, work ethic, and athleticism.

additionally, these breeds of dogs make excellent trail partners for outdoor adventures and exercise — which is a key ingredient in a healthy mind and body for both humans and dogs.

— Help Guide

we place strong emphasis on outdoor exercise with our psychiatric service dogs.

for one, it’s a natural and effective anti-anxiety treatment. it relieves tension and stress, boosts physical and mental energy, and enhances well-being through the release of endorphins. this applies to both humans and dogs.

it also strengthens the relationship between you and your service dog.

whether you like to hike or trail run, standup paddle board or kayak, snowshoe or cross-country ski, or even mountain bike — we teach you how to get your psychiatric service dog out with you into nature.  if you’re new to it all, we’re here to help you every step of the way.

our dogs have the necessary training to join you on whatever outdoor adventure you choose.  it may very well inspire you to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
